On our way to West Virginia

Well 4th of July was great. We headed out to downtown Pittsburgh's North Shore for the Three Rivers Regatta. We went to this Cantina restaurant right on the river bank. The worst guacamole ever, avocado and lemon juice. I wanted to ask to see the cook so I could slap him. How can you ruin guac. Anyway, it was a great people watching place and there were boat races going on in front of us. As for the people watching, there was a lot to watch. They look and dress different up here to say the least. We walked around and checked out the Steelers arena where the activities were happening. It was drizzling pretty heavy so some of the things, like the bounce house and stuff where just too wet to have any fun. We went down by the water and listened to some live band, but we still had 4 hours until "show time". When we only had three hrs to go we went back to the Cantina patio, where there where real bathrooms, not port-a-pots and $2 beers. We got a great spot in the corner of the patio. We actually had to physically move the table to the corner, because as show time was approaching people where trying to stand in our corner. So we have a prime spot that we held for 3 hours, just hanging out the girls colored and watched the boats. The fireworks are suppose to start at 9:38, at 9:30 this big black dude, I think the bouncer, comes over and says we are going to have to leave with our children, the place becomes a bar at 9:30 and children are not allowed. I snapped my head around so fast (it may have actually spun one revolution) and ripped into him. I told him we had been here for lunch then returned and had been sitting here holding this spot for 3 hours and we are NOT leaving. There were a couple of other kids running around so Kelly said we would leave after the other kids left. He never returned again and we had a great river front view of a fantastic laser/ fireworks show with an orchestra playing along. The river was glowing with colors and was full of spectator boats. It was a great show.
Now, here is part of the usual Grunewald journeys. Our rig hasn't been running to full capacity when it goes up a hill, which there are a lot of here. So Kelly thought it was the air filter that needed to be changed again, but it is a huge job to do. Instead he thought one issue may be the fuel filter, which he had. So we pulled over on a road side rest area and changed the fuel filter. He yelled at me to start the engine, which I did and everything was a go. All of a sudden the engine dies. I crank it up again, it won't turn over. Kelly tries and it will not turn over. He goes to the back and comes back with this look, like oops I forgot to do something. He was supposed to safe the diesel fuel in the filter and put it in the new filter, kind of a primer to help it start. Soooo, we call Caterpillar engine company and they told us we need a pump to prime the line now. He called a dealer about a hour away who was waiting for our call to get information on our engine and our location to come help us. After Kelly talked to the guy, the $500+ job they are going to do for us is now costing, $50, a driver and a dozen golf balls. We have had lunch, picked blackberries from the bushes along side of us and it's been over an hour. Gotta go.

That's hilarious - but also very cool - bargaining your way across the country. Like our forefathers. Instead of a two hogs for a man's daughter to become a wife, a driver and golf balls for a fuel pump. The human race has evolved so well.
Great visual of the scene on the deck hanging onto the prime spot.
On behalf of all the nice people out there who never want to make a scene - thanks you for always being the bitch we can count on to stir the pot.

I can always depend on my sweet little daughter to stand her ground. Sounds like the dude wanted your spot for his self or friends. I’m sitting here in my RV in Denali, Alaska and watching people walk by while Kay shops. It is a clear day and I can actually see Mt McKinley – an awesome sight.
